Hourglass Mansion is a Children's Discovery Centre that transforms from a Kindergarten to a Family Park from morning to evening. Combining learning, playing, eating & amusement, within each part of the day a new adventure lies ahead. Where learn and play becomes one, kids can unleash their creative potential and make way for imaginative possibilities.

This is located within the heart of the site, across the ground and the first floor. It expresses a clear playful aesthetic, featuring ball pools, slide and a sand playground. The original doorways are closed off with green stained acrylic, highlighting the playhouse from various surrounding angles. The playhouse combines and embodies the adventerous character within this kid’s centre, allowing kids to explore and play, and be emersed in an imaginative atmosphere, promoting their creative potential.

During the transformation, the rhythm of the space changes, the ceiling becomes a starry night sky, the giant hourglass turns in a robotic movement to rewind time, the pink circular trees light up and the bridge pipes turn in an arc, opening up the bridge. As the Transformation is an adventure point, it becomes a part of the day that kids and adults can watch, to see the space transform and be a part of the creative journey.

On the floor, time frames are drawn as black lines on the floor, showing the time of the occurrence of the transformation, so kids can watch the rhythm of the space change. Time guides the adventure within this kid’s centre.

During the transformation, the adventure becomes a performance. The space undergoes a transformation over a short rewind of time, allowing kids to take part and watch the rhythm of the space change, making way for new dynamic journeys. Hence, time guides the adventure within this kid’s centre. When education meets entertainment, the result embraces children's curious nature and promotes their learning.
